Petroleum resin in the ink industry applications

- Feb 07, 2019-

Petroleum resin is a general term for resinous substances produced by the polymerization of olefins or cyclic olefins, the by-products of cracked petroleum, or copolymerized with aldehydes, aromatics and terpenes.

It is characterized by low acid value, good miscibility, resistance to water, ethanol and chemicals.

Soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons, insoluble in lower alcohols and ketones.

Mainly used in the paint industry, light-colored petroleum resins are used in the manufacture of oily varnishes to improve gloss and adhesion.

Petroleum resin can also be used in the rubber industry in general, with the softening point of the resin as a plasticizer, with a higher softening point of the resin to improve the hardness of synthetic rubber.

It is also used to prepare hot melt adhesive, traffic sign paint, printing ink and paper hydrophobic agent.

Today, I would like to introduce the application of petroleum resin in the ink industry

Petroleum resin is widely used in the field of ink. Petroleum resin is a product refined from petrochemical industry. Its main function is to lubricate at high temperature.

Petroleum resin in the field of ink application has a long history, the first has been more than 20 years of history, mainly to increase the elasticity of ink, viscosity, increase or decrease the durability of ink, is an indispensable part of the ink industry.
